Teton National Park – 2022

SUMMER 2022

We had a hiatus of a couple months at our base camp in Eugene OR but we are back on the road again and it feels really good.  Our itinerary for this summer is a two month trek to Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park and finally into Banff and Jasper in Alberta Canada. All of these places are a photographer’s paradise and we are  so excited and cameras are charged and ready to go. But, of course a road trip means “travel days” so we decided to briefly write what travel days look like for the first leg of our Journey to The Grand Teton National Park.

Day 1

We left a rainy, dreary Eugene and headed out to our first overnight stop in Bend Oregon. Getting back into the groove of “travel days” was a bit daunting but we soon found our groove. And even better, we were greeted with 70 degrees and sun in Bend. Day 1 was a success.

Day 2

Day 2 was just one of those travel days, boring but

gets you further down the road on “the journey”. And, as is our    custom, we pray and ask God for a safe trip and good health. Day 2 was a success.

Day 3

So with our lattes in hand, we head out to the next stop on our journey, Boise/Meridian ID. By the third day, we are truly back in the groove of travel days and upon arriving set up for the night in record time.  Time for a much needed walk.  After our walk, we eat a light meal, catch up on Emails and updating other computer related items. And, as we call it a day, we realize once again, God has answered our prayers for safety and health to enjoy the journey.

Day 4

Almost there!!  Pleasant day upon arriving at the RV Park in Idaho. For us it has been really great to see the sun and  walk in pleasant temperatures.  But, as we draw closer to our destination, we are excited on one hand and preparing to bundle up for what we know will be some frigid temperatures on the other hand. We have asked ourselves why we are headed for the cold temperatures, but we are getting so excited for some new adventures and some awesome photography.

Day 5

I guess there had to be at least one day with a few “annoying little hassles” right?  GPS systems are not full proof. Ours refused to find the right direction and we had to shut it off to keep it from saying “Make a “U” turn. After stopping at a Rest Stop, we renegotiated with the GPS. Finally heading in the right direction the rest of the trip was uneventful until we hit a huge bump heading for the gas station. It seems huge bumps are part of the journey in an RV. We know once we get settled in our site to open doors carefully so we were not surprised that the “huge bump” we had just hit caused the bar in the clothes closet to break. Oh what fun it is to clean up messes. Now, the next order of business was to find a hardware store to replace the broken rod. Mission accomplished and we were ready to settle in.

Day 6

This is arrival day and the scenery as we approach the Tetons is glorious. Our day is short, only about 2 hours. We arrive to some “cool and cloudy” weather and proceeded to the RV park. The park is within the National Park so that is an extra bonus and we are ready and excited for the next 2 weeks. Watch the video below as we capture the beautiful Grand Teton NP and wildlife. WOW just WOW. Enjoy
