We have been dreaming and planning for this day for many years. As of June 16, 2018, our day dreaming became our reality as we took possession of our 2019 Big Horn 5th Wheel RV.
Our time is now! We have everything we need so now we are ready to start our “retirement” adventures and hopefully inspire others to not give up on their dreams.
There is no doubt this has been a process, from reading tons of literature to watching a bazillion YouTube videos, to attending RV shows, we finally figured out what would work best for us. It can be a daunting task choosing an RV. Some of the things we considered in purchasing our RV are:
- Determining what kind of RV we wanted. That was a process in itself. There are so many types out there. We went to dealerships, RV shows and manufacturer’s websites to look at the myriad of options out there.
- Price of course. We experienced sticker shock for sure, but after much research, we found out we could negotiate the price with a 30% savings.
- Once we determined what type of RV we wanted, we realized we needed to upgrade our pickup. This is one thing you must consider before buying your RV.
- One other thing to consider if you have never had an RV – You can rent one or buy a used one. This will let you see what you like and what you do not like before making a major purchase. We previously owned two “pull-behind” trailers over the years so we felt we really knew what we wanted (since we are old, comfort was our highest priority).
